CERIC has announced the recipients of its Graduate Student Award, providing support to three graduate students to attend the Cannexus National Career Development Conference, January 28-30, 2013 in Ottawa.

The recipients are:

  • Vijaykumar Bhosekar, PhD candidate, Department of Plant Agriculture, Ontario Agricultural College, University of Guelph
  • Jennifer Davies, EdD candidate, Counselling Psychology, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto
  • Lorraine Godden, PhD candidate, Faculty of Education, Queen’s University

The award, presented to select full-time graduate students annually, provides free registration to Cannexus and $1,000 to cover expenses to attend the conference. The Cannexus conference promotes the exchange of information and explores innovative approaches in the areas of career counselling and career development.

Eligibility for the Graduate Student Award is based on participation in CERIC’s Graduate Student Engagement Program (GSEP), which includes the submission of a one-page article on a career development topic for publication through ContactPoint or OrientAction. GSEP encourages the engagement of Canada’s full-time graduate students whose academic focus is in career development and/or related fields.
