Along with The Counselling Foundation of Canada, CERIC is supporting the Metcalf Foundation in partnership with the Aspen Institute’s Economic Opportunities Program to launch the Toronto Sector Skills Academy.

The Toronto Sector Skills Academy is a 10-month learning and leadership program for senior professionals who advance sector-based workforce development policy, services and training in the Toronto region. Each cohort will work with peers from a variety of organizations to learn from experts, strengthen partnerships, engage in experiential learning with practical applications, and acquire new skills to explore, catalyze and enable sectoral workforce strategies.

A total of 29 leaders have been granted acceptance into the program and will form the first cohort that includes representation from organizations such as Skills for Change, Toronto Employment and Social Services, ACCES Employment, WoodGreen Community Services, Dixon Hall and East Scarborough Storefront. The 2016–17 Toronto Sector Skills Academy begins on October 14, 2016.
