CERIC is partnering with New Brunswick Career Development Association to present a new webinar series – Why Aren’t You More Like Me?™ Discover How Personal Style Impacts All Our Career Choices, Relationships and Life Decisions with Dr Ken Keis, an expert in leadership, purpose and wellness, starting this fall.
As part of this first collaborative edition between CERIC and the National Career Development Association (NCDA), the Spring-Summer 2017 issue of Careering magazine highlights “The Changing Nature of Careers.” Topics covered include ethical practice in the gig economy, entrepreneurship as a must-have career skill, and the “pivoting” strategy of career change. A feature interview with Colorado State University Professor Emeritus Rich Feller on career thought leaders for the new world of work is also part of this special issue.
The Etta St John Wileman award for lifetime achievement in career development is designed to recognize and celebrate individuals who have devoted their lives to enhancing the field of career development. New CERIC-funded research will produce one of the first quantitative studies of veteran career transition and help us understand how communication style may be affecting how military candidates are hired for civilian positions. The project titled “A Question of Style – Does Working Style Impact Hiring Success Among Veterans in Canada?” is being led by Challenge Factory, a Canadian research, coaching and consulting firm, and it will deliver findings to coincide with the 2017 Invictus Games.
The 2017 Summer Skills Academy will feature a special one-day intensive and interactive training opportunity: Life Reimagined: Career Development for Living the “Good Life” on purpose with Rich Feller. The seminar will be held on Thursday, July 20 at the CERIC office in Toronto.
CERIC is offering a free webinar with Dr Norman Amundson and Tannis Goddard on Hope-Centred Career Interventions on June 5, 2017. The Hope-Centred Career Interventions project wrapped of earlier this year with a final report showing how deploying specific hope-centred career interventions can positively influence the actions of unemployed adult jobseekers with low hope and high barriers.
CERIC is pleased to announce the keynote speakers for Cannexus18, Canada’s largest bilingual National Career Development Conference. Cannexus is designed to promote the exchange of information and explore innovate approaches in the areas of career counselling and career development. The conference takes place January 22-24, 2018 at the Shaw Centre in Ottawa and is expected to welcome 1,000 delegates.
