Eventbrite - Summer Skills Academy: Life Reimagined - Training with Rich Feller

Who Should Attend

Any career professionals, coaches and HR managers working with older individuals, as well as practitioners contemplating their own transition will benefit directly from attending.

Also, organizational executives, program administrators, policy-makers and others interested in exploring the implications of an aging workforce would find the seminar of value.

Overview

Aging, longevity and workforce trends complement a drive to live on purpose. Career professionals are re-evaluating practices, tools and techniques as “ageless aging” confronts disruptive change in learning and work. This hands-on and video-enhanced seminar asks participants to consider how work, jobs and success are being re-imagined.

This seminar comes as the biggest demographic wave in history – the baby boomers – moves towards retirement. Baby boomers, who currently range in age from 50 to 69, now make up a growing percentage of the population with unprecedented numbers staying in the workforce longer than ever before.

Learn how these changes demand a connection to internal motivation, personal definitions of the “good life,” and clarity about one’s purpose. Leave with sample materials, practice new techniques, and evaluate Life Reimagined, a model for navigating a lifetime of change created for 40 million AARP members.

Life Reimagined was launched as a personal guidance system to help people navigate transitions, pursue their goals, dreams and purpose in life. In addition to exploring relationships and well-being, the model focuses on work with the premise that since the average person spends over 100,000 hours of their life working, it’s important to learn how to feel more rewarded and fulfilled by your career.

Goals

  1. Review the principles behind AARP’s Life Reimagined program created to serve those in the second half of life
  2. Explore one’s own aging (regardless of age) and the connection to designing the “Good Life”
  3. Complete practical exercises to develop one’s purpose statement
  4. Receive and practice fun and engaging tools like the Knowdell Motivated Skills Cards, Value Cards and Leisure/Retirement Card Sorts (samples valued at $45 US)
  5. Review practical programs used with 50+ groups, alumni groups and organizations to explore “what’s next” for their clients, members and employee
