Laura Dokis has over 25 years of experience as a senior and executive education administrator that includes acting as a human resources professional. She has been employed by Canadore College, the Anishinabek Educational Institute and the Sudbury and Peel Boards of Education. Laura spearheaded the Anishinabek Career Centre in 1991, known to be the first of its kind. She has presented career education material at both national and international conferences and seminars. Laura worked as a team member on initiatives that received several awards recognizing exemplary accomplishments. Recently she began working as an independent education professional on numerous education projects and as a freelance writer for the Anishinabek News. Laura volunteers with the Near North Palliative Care Network and joined CERIC in June 2016.
