Dans le milieu des affaires, M.\u00a0Lawson a si\u00e9g\u00e9 au Conseil des gouverneurs de la Bourse de Toronto et a rempli un mandat de pr\u00e9sident du Conseil. Il a \u00e9galement si\u00e9g\u00e9 au conseil d\u2019administration de l\u2019Association canadienne des courtiers en valeurs mobili\u00e8res.<\/p>\n<p>Lawson a touch\u00e9 au secteur sans but lucratif pendant presque toute sa carri\u00e8re professionnelle. Apr\u00e8s avoir exerc\u00e9 diverses fonctions au YMCA du Grand Toronto, il en est devenu le pr\u00e9sident au moment o\u00f9 le YMCA fr\u00f4lait la faillite. Des d\u00e9cisions prises pendant son mandat ont men\u00e9 au r\u00e9tablissement de l\u2019association; aujourd\u2019hui, cette derni\u00e8re est une entreprise prosp\u00e8re valant plus de 200\u00a0millions de dollars. En\u00a01984, M.\u00a0Lawson est devenu pr\u00e9sident du conseil d\u2019administration de la Counselling Foundation of Canada, poste qu\u2019il a occup\u00e9 pendant 31\u00a0ans. Il a quitt\u00e9 ce poste en novembre\u00a02015, mais il est demeur\u00e9 administrateur et porte le titre honorifique de pr\u00e9sident \u00e9m\u00e9rite. Il a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 membre du comit\u00e9 du budget de Centraide, administrateur et tr\u00e9sorier de Huntley Youth Services (maintenant appel\u00e9 Youthlink), membre du comit\u00e9 des placements de l\u2019\u00c9glise unie du Canada, membre du conseil d\u2019administration et tr\u00e9sorier de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Victoria (une universit\u00e9 affili\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Toronto), pr\u00e9sident du comit\u00e9 de direction, et par la suite, du conseil de surveillance de la Lawrence Park Community Church et administrateur du Georgian Bay Land Trust.<\/p>\n<p>En guise de reconnaissance, il a re\u00e7u le titre d\u2019officier des Compagnons d\u2019honneur du\u00a0YMCA du Canada, un doctorat honorifique en droit de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Dalhousie, un doctorat honorifique en lettres sacr\u00e9es de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Victoria, un doctorat honorifique en droit de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Memorial de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador et la m\u00e9daille du Jubil\u00e9 de diamant de la reine\u00a0Elizabeth\u00a0II.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Retrait\u00e9 depuis juillet\u00a02008, Donald Lawson a travaill\u00e9 dans le secteur des investissements pendant 58\u00a0ans, d\u2019abord en tant qu\u2019associ\u00e9 chez Moss, Lawson &amp;
