Il a obtenu un baccalaur\u00e9at en \u00e9ducation et un baccalaur\u00e9at \u00e8s arts de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 du Manitoba. Dans le domaine de l\u2019\u00e9ducation depuis 18 ann\u00e9es, il a fait ses d\u00e9buts en tant qu\u2019enseignant \u00e0 la Division scolaire Frontier \u00e0 Gillam, au Manitoba, o\u00f9 il a donn\u00e9 des cours de fanfare, de musique et de langue anglaise.<\/p>\n

M. McCaskil a coordonn\u00e9 le programme \u00e9tudes-travail de la Division scolaire Frontier visant \u00e0 enseigner aux jeunes adultes des comp\u00e9tences en milieu de travail. Il a \u00e9galement coordonn\u00e9 le Home Placement Program \u00e0 l\u2019intention des \u00e9tudiants qui n\u2019ont pas acc\u00e8s \u00e0 des programmes d\u2019\u00e9tudes secondaires et le Program for the Education of Native Teachers (P.E.N.T.), un programme de formation pour les aspirants enseignants de la r\u00e9gion.<\/p>\n

Actuellement, il est directeur adjoint des programmes Senior Years and Career \u00e0 la Division scolaire Frontier. Il supervise maintenant les programmes d\u2019\u00e9tudes secondaires, d\u2019\u00e9ducation des adultes, d\u2019\u00e9tudes-travail, de sant\u00e9, de bien-\u00eatre et d\u2019\u00e9ducation physique, de placement \u00e0 domicile et P.E.N.T. Par surcro\u00eet, il offre des services de soutien direct aux 25 conseillers scolaires de la division.<\/p>\n

M. McCaskil a agi \u00e0 titre de membre ex\u00e9cutif de la Manitoba Association of Secondary Teachers of At-Risk Students et a \u00e9t\u00e9 membre du conseil du Centre de traitement des adolescents et des adolescentes du Manitoba.
