Le CERIC a produit un nouveau documentaire (en anglais) sur le changement de carri\u00e8re, la transition et le changement de parcours professionnel \u00e0 un \u00e2ge avanc\u00e9. Le film, qui s\u2019intitule Redirection: Movers, Shakers and Shifters<\/a> (Se r\u00e9orienter\u00a0: des individus qui agissent, bousculent les st\u00e9r\u00e9otypes et \u00e9voluent dans leurs carri\u00e8res), raconte l\u2019histoire de cinq\u00a0personnes qui ont entam\u00e9 une deuxi\u00e8me ou une troisi\u00e8me carri\u00e8re apr\u00e8s l\u2019\u00e2ge de 50\u00a0ans. Il s\u2019inscrit dans le cadre du projet de recherche national de r\u00e9orientation<\/a> sur le travail et le d\u00e9veloppement de carri\u00e8re \u00e0 un \u00e2ge avanc\u00e9 que dirige la Dre<\/sup>\u00a0Suzanne\u00a0Cook, de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 York.<\/span><\/p>\n

Les r\u00e9orientations risquent de se faire plus nombreuses dans notre soci\u00e9t\u00e9, comme en t\u00e9moigne la proportion croissante de personnes qui choisissent d\u2019entreprendre une nouvelle carri\u00e8re \u00e0 un \u00e2ge avanc\u00e9. Le terme \u00ab\u00a0r\u00e9orientation\u00a0\u00bb d\u00e9signe une toute nouvelle phase de la carri\u00e8re. La vie active se prolonge et la r\u00e9orientation appara\u00eet comme une option de remplacement \u00e0 la retraite. Ce virage s\u2019amorce en raison des changements sociaux, d\u00e9mographiques, \u00e9conomiques et politiques qui s\u2019op\u00e8rent au Canada.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dans le documentaire de 33\u00a0minutes, les participants d\u00e9crivent les difficult\u00e9s qu\u2019ils ont v\u00e9cues en passant \u00e0 un nouvel emploi. Les facteurs motivant le changement de carri\u00e8re diff\u00e8rent d\u2019une personne \u00e0 l\u2019autre. Certains peuvent \u00eatre oblig\u00e9s de changer d\u2019emploi \u00e0 un \u00e2ge avanc\u00e9, d\u2019autres peuvent choisir de travailler pour s\u2019\u00e9panouir, et d\u2019autres encore peuvent avoir besoin de revenus suppl\u00e9mentaires.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le film vise \u00e0 amorcer un dialogue et une discussion sur les th\u00e8mes et les difficult\u00e9s entourant le travail, le vieillissement et le d\u00e9veloppement de carri\u00e8re \u00e0 un \u00e2ge avanc\u00e9. Suzanne\u00a0Cook, la productrice d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9e du film, est g\u00e9rontologue sociale, sp\u00e9cialiste de l\u2019\u00e9ducation des adultes et professeure adjointe au D\u00e9partement de sociologie de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 York ainsi qu\u2019au York\u2019s Centre for Aging Research\u00a0and Education<\/a>.
