C\u2019est sans doute parce que la plupart d\u2019entre nous avons peu ou pas d\u2019exp\u00e9rience en affaires. Nous pensons aux co\u00fbts \u00e9normes associ\u00e9s au d\u00e9marrage d\u2019une entreprise et aux risques colossaux que pourraient courir nos clients. Pourtant, le travail autonome n\u2019est rien d\u2019autre que l\u2019utilisation \u00e0 votre propre compte des comp\u00e9tences que vous avez acquises dans vos emplois ant\u00e9rieurs. Il faut y consacrer du temps, bien planifier et faire ses recherches, mais cela est \u00e9galement vrai pour la recherche traditionnelle d\u2019un emploi.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Par exemple, si vous \u00eates conseiller en emploi, vous avez probablement des comp\u00e9tences en organisation, en planification d\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nements et en formation, ainsi qu\u2019en recherche et en gestion de projets. Vous pouvez mettre ces comp\u00e9tences \u00e0 profit d\u2019une toute nouvelle fa\u00e7on. Peut-\u00eatre pourriez-vous d\u00e9marrer une entreprise afin de former d\u2019autres professionnels du d\u00e9veloppement de carri\u00e8re dans votre champ d\u2019expertise? Au lieu de travailler pour une seule agence, vous pourriez devenir un fournisseur de services pour quelques agences et offrir de la formation ou du soutien \u00e0 l\u2019emploi. Vous pourriez aussi \u00e9crire des blogues pour un site Web de recherche d\u2019emploi ou faire toutes ces choses en \u00e9tant r\u00e9mun\u00e9r\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019acte. Vous pourriez m\u00eame devenir conf\u00e9rencier ou planificateur de la formation dans un tout nouveau domaine, en appliquant vos comp\u00e9tences \u00e0 un domaine en croissance.<\/p>\n<p>Cheryl a perdu son emploi au sein d\u2019une banque multinationale lors de la crise \u00e9conomique de 2008. Elle travaillait dans le domaine des commandites qui consiste essentiellement \u00e0 planifier et \u00e0 organiser des \u00e9v\u00e9nements pour les clients principaux de la banque. Elle travaillait beaucoup d\u2019heures et craignait constamment de perdre son emploi, puisqu\u2019elle savait pertinemment que son travail n\u2019\u00e9tait pas un service essentiel pour la banque. En moins d\u2019une semaine, elle a communiqu\u00e9 avec ses relations d\u2019affaires et a d\u00e9croch\u00e9 des contrats \u00e0 temps partiel avec trois entreprises diff\u00e9rentes.<\/p>\n<p>Dans ces entreprises, il y avait encore du travail \u00e0 faire relativement aux commandites, mais les compressions budg\u00e9taires avaient d\u00e9cim\u00e9 les services qui en avaient la responsabilit\u00e9. Sa proposition de travail \u00e0 forfait \u00e0 temps partiel \u00e9tait donc une solution gagnante \u00e0 la fois pour elle et pour les entreprises.<\/p>\n<p>Elle a recueilli les informations n\u00e9cessaires pour cr\u00e9er son entreprise \u00e0 domicile et s\u2019est adress\u00e9e \u00e0 un comptable pour la tenue de livres. Elle a repris le travail rapidement, mais cette fois, elle fait moins d\u2019heures, gagne plus d\u2019argent et a moins peur de perdre son emploi. Cheryl travaille principalement \u00e0 la maison, ce qui lui permet de gagner du temps et d\u2019\u00e9conomiser sur les repas pris \u00e0 l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur et sur les v\u00eatements de travail. De plus, elle peut d\u00e9duire de son revenu imposable certaines d\u00e9penses et certains frais associ\u00e9s \u00e0 son bureau.<\/p>\n<p>Cette histoire est un sc\u00e9nario id\u00e9al, mais il n\u2019en demeure pas moins que bon nombre de personnes ont r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 trouver de nouvelles fa\u00e7ons de travailler \u00e0 leur compte et d\u2019accro\u00eetre leurs revenus. Le travail \u00e0 distance de type \u00ab 3.0 \u00bb peut \u00eatre une fa\u00e7on formidable de d\u00e9couvrir des occasions de travail autonome, qu\u2019il s\u2019agisse de travailler dans le cadre de projets pr\u00e9cis ou de consacrer un nombre d\u2019heures fixes sur une base r\u00e9guli\u00e8re pour diverses entreprises. Ces postes peuvent exiger des comp\u00e9tences bien pr\u00e9cises, notamment s\u2019il s\u2019agit de traduction, de correction de textes, d\u2019enseignement d\u2019une langue, de soutien information ou de services \u00e0 la client\u00e8le.<\/p>\n<p>Il y a moins d\u2019un an, les services sociaux et d\u2019emploi de la municipalit\u00e9 de Chatham-Kent (Programme Ontario au travail) ont d\u00e9cid\u00e9 d\u2019offrir une formation sur l\u2019emploi \u00e0 distance aux conseillers en emploi et aux clients afin de r\u00e9duire le taux de ch\u00f4mage qui atteint 12 %. Cette ann\u00e9e, nous avons constat\u00e9 qu\u2019un bon nombre de participants ont repris confiance et ont trouv\u00e9 du travail. Certains ne re\u00e7oivent plus d\u2019aide sociale tandis que d\u2019autres ont augment\u00e9 leur revenu afin de mieux soutenir leur famille. En 2013, nous \u00e9largirons notre programme de formation aux clients afin de permettre \u00e0 ces derniers d\u2019acqu\u00e9rir les comp\u00e9tences n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 la gestion d\u2019une petite entreprise, et ce, en vue de permettre \u00e0 un plus grand nombre de participants de cr\u00e9er leur propre emploi dans la municipalit\u00e9 de Chatham-Kent.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Polly Smith<\/strong>\u00a0<em>est directrice du programme de services d\u2019emploi pour la division des services sociaux et d\u2019emploi de la municipalit\u00e9 de Chatham-Kent (Employment and Social Services Division).
