Pr\u00e8s d\u2019un an apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9but de la pand\u00e9mie et en raison d\u2019incidents inqui\u00e9tants caus\u00e9s par les conflits raciaux et l\u2019injustice, nous sommes nombreux \u00e0 mener une r\u00e9flexion approfondie sur ce que tout cela signifie dans notre vie personnelle et professionnelle. Le nouveau coronavirus et le mouvement Black Lives\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Matter<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0ont converg\u00e9 pour exercer une influence consid\u00e9rable sur notre bien-\u00eatre, ce qui nous a confront\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019incertitude.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:1,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:257}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Les professionnels du d\u00e9veloppement de carri\u00e8re ont traditionnellement aid\u00e9 leurs clients \u00e0 traverser les p\u00e9riodes d\u2019ambigu\u00eft\u00e9 et d\u2019anxi\u00e9t\u00e9, qu\u2019il s\u2019agisse d\u2019une transition de l\u2019\u00e9cole au march\u00e9 du travail, d\u2019une perte d\u2019emploi, d\u2019un changement de carri\u00e8re ou d\u2019une am\u00e9lioration des comp\u00e9tences. Certains travaillent avec des personnes issues de groupes sous-repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s qui sont d\u00e9j\u00e0 d\u00e9savantag\u00e9es et \u00e9vinc\u00e9es du march\u00e9 du travail. La pand\u00e9mie aggrave la fracture sociale et \u00e9conomique, amenant les professionnels de la carri\u00e8re \u00e0 se sentir interpell\u00e9s dans leur capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 insuffler l\u2019espoir et \u00e0 \u00eatre au service de leurs clients.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:1,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:257}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">De nombreuses organisations ont r\u00e9pondu aux pressions du public pour lutter contre le racisme envers les Noirs. Alors que les institutions ont la responsabilit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9laborer des politiques et des pratiques inclusives pour am\u00e9liorer la vie des personnes appartenant \u00e0 un groupe \u00e9conomiquement et socialement marginalis\u00e9, les professionnels du d\u00e9veloppement de carri\u00e8re ont \u00e9galement un r\u00f4le important \u00e0 jouer pour faciliter l\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 des possibilit\u00e9s de carri\u00e8re et d\u2019emploi int\u00e9ressantes pour leurs clients. Quel que soit le poste que vous occupez dans ce domaine, je vous invite \u00e0 r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir \u00e0 certaines questions qui n\u00e9cessitent une plus grande prise de conscience, une action intentionnelle et une responsabilit\u00e9 personnelle. De nombreuses \u00e9tudes ont document\u00e9 les effets du racisme et la disparit\u00e9 des r\u00e9sultats en mati\u00e8re d\u2019\u00e9ducation, d\u2019emploi et de sant\u00e9 pour les membres de diverses communaut\u00e9s noires au Canada (<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Environics<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0Institute, 2017, 2019; Maynard, 2018; gouvernement du Canada, 2020).<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">L\u2019exp\u00e9rience des personnes noires continue de p\u00e2tir des syst\u00e8mes d\u2019oppression enracin\u00e9s dans le colonialisme et la supr\u00e9matie blanche.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:1,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:257}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">En adoptant les quatre capacit\u00e9s de\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Hirschi<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0dans mon propre travail, je prends en consid\u00e9ration l\u2019exp\u00e9rience des personnes noires dans le syst\u00e8me \u00e9ducatif, qui est fa\u00e7onn\u00e9 par les faibles attentes des enseignants, le groupement par aptitudes, ainsi que des taux de suspension, d\u2019expulsion et de d\u00e9crochage disproportionn\u00e9s. Le manque de repr\u00e9sentation dans le curriculum et dans la classe affecte l\u2019identit\u00e9 professionnelle. Je suis \u00e9galement consciente de l\u2019effet du climat sociopolitique et des images m\u00e9diatiques de la communaut\u00e9 noire sur la perception de soi, le sentiment d\u2019appartenance, l\u2019espoir et le bien-\u00eatre psychologique global. Comme l\u2019affirme\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Hooley<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0(2020), \u00ab Nos carri\u00e8res ne sont pas seulement l\u2019expression de notre psychologie ou de notre volont\u00e9; elles sont ancr\u00e9es dans les structures sociales. \u00bb [Traduction libre]<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:1,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:257}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Les discussions sur la carri\u00e8re avec vos clients noirs doivent \u00eatre fond\u00e9es sur une compr\u00e9hension de l\u2019histoire et du contexte qui influencent leur trajectoire professionnelle. Cela n\u00e9cessite \u00e9galement une compr\u00e9hension de la\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">positionnalit\u00e9<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, en d\u2019autres termes, leur identit\u00e9, leur situation sociale et leur vision du monde. Comment votre propre\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">positionnalit\u00e9<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0et privil\u00e8ge influencent-ils votre travail en tant que professionnel du d\u00e9veloppement de carri\u00e8re? Comment cette compr\u00e9hension de l\u2019histoire et de l\u2019exp\u00e9rience des personnes noires se r\u00e9v\u00e8le-t-elle dans votre pratique? Les auteurs demandent aux professionnels d\u2019examiner les contextes sociaux, \u00e9conomiques et politiques de leur travail. Ils nous encouragent \u00e0 \u00e9quilibrer l\u2019attention que nous portons \u00e0 l\u2019individu et \u00e0 faire une \u00e9valuation plus critique des syst\u00e8mes qui d\u00e9terminent l\u2019acc\u00e8s, le statut et la trajectoire professionnelle.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Hooley<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0(2020) avance que parfois les clients tirent avantage d\u2019une aide individuelle, d\u2019autres fois d\u2019un changement syst\u00e9mique, mais plus souvent des deux \u00e0 la fois. Comment votre approche de l\u2019orientation professionnelle pourrait-elle \u00eatre en accord avec les normes de la culture dominante et quel est le message transmis \u00e0 vos clients?\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:1,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:257}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Afin d\u2019assurer la repr\u00e9sentation des clients noirs et de favoriser un sentiment d\u2019appartenance, pensez \u00e0 la composition de votre \u00e9quipe, aux \u00e9v\u00e9nements sur les carri\u00e8res, ainsi qu\u2019aux images et au langage utilis\u00e9s dans votre mat\u00e9riel promotionnel et documentation d\u2019apprentissage. Quels noms utilisez-vous habituellement sur les exemples de curriculum vit\u00e6? Quels visages illustrent les brochures du programme et les pr\u00e9sentations PowerPoint? Si des clients font partie de votre mod\u00e8le de prestation de services, des leaders \u00e9tudiants noirs ou des personnes noires charg\u00e9es d\u2019aider les pairs sont-ils engag\u00e9s? Faites-vous participer des professionnels, des sp\u00e9cialistes de l\u2019industrie et d\u2019anciens \u00e9l\u00e8ves noirs \u00e0 des \u00e9v\u00e9nements sur les carri\u00e8res? Comment r\u00e9agissez-vous aux employeurs qui font de la discrimination? La confiance en soi est gage de succ\u00e8s. En faisant preuve d\u2019un regard positif \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard du client, le professionnel du d\u00e9veloppement de carri\u00e8re contribue \u00e0 renforcer cette confiance et transmet ce qu\u2019<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Amundson<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0(2018) qualifie de \u00ab sentiment d\u2019importance \u00bb au client.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:1,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:257}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Remettre en question nos id\u00e9es pr\u00e9con\u00e7ues et \u00eatre conscient de notre\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">positionnalit\u00e9<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0et de nos pr\u00e9jug\u00e9s inconscients nous permettra de mettre en place des interventions en d\u00e9veloppement de carri\u00e8re plus significatives, autant du point de vue individuel que syst\u00e9mique. En cons\u00e9quence, les aspirations professionnelles et le champ des possibles du client s\u2019\u00e9largiront naturellement. La poursuite de la justice sociale dans notre travail nous pousse \u00e0 favoriser les relations professionnelles, les exp\u00e9riences de travail de qualit\u00e9, un mentorat utile et \u00e0 engager des superviseurs \u00e0 titre de champions pour garantir que les membres des groupes \u00e9conomiquement et socialement marginalis\u00e9s puissent r\u00e9ussir. Je termine par les cinq balises de\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Hooley<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0(2020) : d\u00e9velopper la conscience critique, nommer l\u2019oppression, remettre en question ce qui est normal, encourager les gens \u00e0 travailler ensemble et travailler \u00e0 diff\u00e9rents niveaux. Selon le cadre actuel, les clients et \u00e9tudiants noirs restent d\u00e9savantag\u00e9s.
