SEMINAR DETAILS
Today, many people struggle to express their “true selves” in the work they perform and the lives they live. The bombardment of competing expectations and many workplace rules can shape who you become and how you live in ways that threaten your authenticity. Sometimes we are so intent on fitting in and succeeding that we are only vaguely aware that this is happening to us. This full-day interactive training session focuses on strategies for encouraging clients to make career choices that honour their souls or authentic selves. Soul-based choices are grounded in authenticity, meaning and purpose. Emphasizing the psychology of use, we can facilitate the consideration of the most essential questions that guide us toward achieving our unique purpose. Learning how to stay grounded in our authenticity can facilitate the creation of a soulful career. This session teaches participants how to engage in career counselling with soul.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
-
- Understand the challenges confronting the soul at work
- Learn the importance of making soul-based career choices
- Learn soul-based career counselling techniques
- Learn how to adjust career interventions to increase the probability of making soul-based career choices
- Understand how to use the psychology of use versus the psychology of possession in career development
- Apply soul-based techniques to your own career choices

Testimonials
Here’s what your colleagues had to say about the last Summer Skills Academy…
The presenter’s experience, knowledge and generosity made this the most interesting and useful workshop I’ve been to in a long time. The variety of information and learning methods made the day extremely beneficial.
The material was presented in such a way that is applicable for personal as well as professional use and the tools provided will be very helpful to implement the ideas at the organizational level.
I gained insight…with the hands on training. The knowledge and use of materials will better equip my clients with insight into their own story or career path. (The presenter) is full of information and real-life experience that lends true authenticity to the training.
Open atmosphere for learning. Hands-on applicability of what was being taught. Small number of attendees and lots of opportunity for questions and answers!
Dynamic and interactive facilitator providing resources that can easily and quickly be incorporated not only into my work but in my life.
The most beneficial aspect was having the opportunity test the… resources along with getting a big picture view of the transition process from a leader in the field and participants and how it impacts clients.
