Winners will be honoured at the Changemakers Summit, taking place April 16-18, 2012 in Gatineau Quebec. The event brings together leaders, policy experts, educators, philanthropists, award winners and project partners of the Changemakers Initiative to celebrate and acknowledge innovations, initiatives, and trailblazers in First Nations, Métis and Inuit education and lifelong learning from across Canada. Presenters at the Summit include The Right Honourable Paul Martin; Mary Simon, President of Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami; and Commissioner Wilton Littlechild of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
The Changemakers Initiative engaged Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people, communities and educational leaders from across Canada and around the world, inviting them to share their innovative ideas and projects to support First Nations, Metis and Inuit learners in Canada.
