April 30, 2007An Interview with ContactPoint’s First President and Current Presidents (Part 2)
September 1, 2007Contact Point was first launched in 1997 at a national conference sponsored by The Counselling Foundation of Canada. It was the first website of its kind to offer a unique online space for interaction and networking among career professionals across Canada, as well as provide relevant information, professional development opportunities and resources. Now, 10 years later, Contact Point remains an integral component of the career counselling field in Canada. In April 2007, at the premiere CANNEXUS conference hosted by CERIC (the Canadian Education and Research Institute for Counselling), Contact Point held a reception to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
This special event held in recognition of the organization’s continued success included a presentation of awards by the Board President, Jennifer Browne, to thank current and former Board Directors for their contribution to Contact Point. Over the years, they have volunteered their time, experience, and expertise to ensure that Contact Point remains a vital and essential component of the career counselling/career development community. On behalf of the Contact Point Board and staff, Jennifer Browne expressed her gratitude to The Counselling Foundation of Canada for their continued support of the organization. She also acknowledged the hard work and dedication of Riz Ibrahim, Contact Point’s first Executive Director. Mr. Donald Lawson, Chairman of The Counselling Foundation of Canada, communicated a very special thank you to Jean Faulds, the Executive Director of The Counselling Foundation of Canada for her tireless efforts and ongoing commitment to Contact Point.
