CERIC is a charitable organization dedicated to advancing education, research and advocacy in career counselling and development. Our mission is to enhance the economic and social well-being of Canadians by promoting career development across the country. We fund innovative projects, host bilingual conferences, publish a peer-reviewed journal, curate online platforms like CareerWise/OrientAction, and offer comprehensive webinars and courses to empower career and employment professionals.

Position Summary

You’ll join a small, passionate group working to advance the learning and professional development of Career Development Professionals. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Lead, Programs, Learning and Development will leverage their strong project management, leadership, communication, and collaboration skills to develop and deliver the CERIC Learning Agenda. This role involves coordinating CERIC’s webinar series, online courses, and other training events for the English and French career development communities across Canada. 

The individual in this role is the CERIC champion for the Learning and Development portfolio, ensuring knowledge transfer within the organization. Additionally, the Lead, Programs, Learning and Development is dedicated to building relationships with key stakeholders in the career development field to create impactful learning opportunities for our audience. 

Core Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple learning projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality execution.  
  • Work collaboratively with association partners, CERIC colleagues and Executive Director to identify marketable topics and presenters. 
  • Plan and execute our bilingual Learning Agenda using our Learning Management System to offer diverse learning initiatives such as webinars, courses or any other learning initiatives.  
  • Integrate adult learning principles into all aspects of learning plans including learning needs assessments course design and development. 
  • Host and moderate live webinars, demonstrating public speaking and facilitation skills. 
  • Coordinate effectively across teams, demonstrating strong work ethics, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset. 
  • Negotiate agreements, speaker communications and co-ordinate relationships with association partners. 
  • Ensure seamless communication and collaboration with the Marketing and Communications team to effectively promote learning initiatives. 
  • Complete post-webinars and courses evaluation and ensure financial obligations to presenters and partners are fulfilled; develop and implement relevant strategies based on analysis of evaluation results. 
  • Arrange Continuing Education credits for learning events as appropriate and liaise with organizations to ensure maintenance of certification requirements. 
  • Organize Roadshows, screenings, seminars and other learning events aligned to the Learning Agenda and collaborate with CERIC colleagues to identify audiences and potential partners as well as venues and on-site program delivery requirements. 
  • Create a pathway for a formalized and responsive learning and development structure based on a micro-credit/modular learning framework. 
  • Maintain relationships between CERIC and interestholders through research and outreach in collaboration with the Co-ordinator, Stakeholder Outreach. 
Additional Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with the CERIC Content & Learning and Research Committees to identify and activate research into learning opportunities 
  • Represent CERIC at conferences, events, Roadshows and tradeshows. 
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge about industry trends and methodologies, and integrate this learning into professional practice. 
  • Support  translations of English content to French and adapt and review new and existing translations. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 
Education and Experience
  • Degree or diploma in training or instructional design, education, project management or related discipline 
  • Minimum five years of experience in adult education, instructional design or learning and development positions 
  • Bilingual (English/French) is a significant asset; proficiency in both languages is highly valued 
Skills and Qualifications
  • Exceptional project and time management skills with a proven ability to plan, execute, and oversee multiple learning initiatives. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in instructional design and adult learning principles, with experience developing engaging learning programs. 
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills in English, with French being a significant asset. 
  • Previous experience using Learning Management System such as Thinkific (strong asset) 
  • Demonstrated detail-oriented workstyle and ability to multi-task and prioritize work. 
  • Ability to effectively network and create partnerships with stakeholders to build strong relationships. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, PowerPoint); Zoom Webinar and Meeting, WordPress, and other training media and technologies. 
  • Familiarity with Continuing Education certification processes and requirements (asset). 
  • Knowledge of trends in career counselling sector and current learning technologies (asset) 
  • Familiarity with contact databases such as Salesforce (asset). 
  • Knowledge of design programs such as InDesign and Photoshop (asset).

Working Conditions 

CERIC is committed to providing a flexible, safe, and accessible workspace that supports productivity and well-being. We offer a hybrid work environment, blending weekly remote and in-person work at our Toronto office (2 St. Clair Ave E).  

While some flexibility in the workday can be accommodated, employees are expected to meet milestones, deliverables, and attend internal and external meetings as required.Employees must have reliable internet access and a dedicated, quiet, and secure workspace to effectively perform their duties while working remotely. 

Hiring Salary: $65,000 – $80,000, commensurate with experience.
