Reporting to the Director, Technology and Design, Marketing and Communications, the Digital & web content specialist provides hands-on support for CERIC’s marketing, learning and advocacy activities. This position assists with digital content updates, interestholder research and outreach, and the co-ordination of webinars and Learning Hub offerings. The specialist supports the promotion of CERIC’s projects, publications and the Cannexus conference, ensuring quality and consistency in all communications while contributing to the effective day-to-day implementation of marketing and communications operations.
Web Content Management: Execute web edits, page cleanups, and content updates across CERIC’s family of websites , focusing on news, publications, past Cannexus pages and archive/resource sections.
Digital Asset Maintenance: Support day-to-day website maintenance by uploading or replacing PDFs, images, promotional ads and publication links.
Site Architecture Support: Implement routine updates to layout and navigational elements, including dates, breadcrumbs, buttons, links and overall page structure.
Quality Assurance & UX Optimization: Identify and resolve formatting inconsistencies, broken layout issues, and mobile optimization flaws to improve the overall user experience.
Pre- & Post-Launch QA: Support quality control workflows by thoroughly checking English and French-side web pages both before and after updates are deployed.
Task & Workflow Coordination: Help organize, track, and complete website-related action items within Asana to ensure efficient task management.
Bilingual Web Support: Handle website fixes and updates on both English and French-side properties as needed, utilizing provided guidance.

Skills and Qualifications
CMS & Technical Skills: Experience managing and updating web content within WordPress (or similar CMS platforms), paired with a foundational understanding of HTML and CSS to handle layout and structural fixes.
Project & Workflow Management: Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with practical experience tracking action items and coordinating workflows in Asana or similar task-management tools.
Quality Assurance & Attention to Detail: Sharp attention to detail with a proven ability to perform thorough quality assurance (QA) checks, identify user experience (UX) inconsistencies, and audit pages for mobile optimization.
Digital Asset Preparation: Proficiency with MS Office and digital design tools—such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)—to support the maintenance and uploading of images, ads, and PDFs.
Bilingualism: Bilingualism (English/French) is a strong asset, specifically for reviewing text consistency and executing web fixes across both English and French-side digital properties.
Communication & Content Formatting: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to accurately support web postings, article updates, and listicle layouts.
Digital & Marketing Platforms: Familiarity with social media platforms, data management, and email marketing systems (including Mailchimp and Salesforce).
Collaborative Problem-Solving: A creative, proactive thinker with strong initiative who can work independently to clear task lists and collaboratively with colleagues on broader brand initiatives.
AI Tool Literacy: Awareness of the ethical and responsible use of AI-assisted tools in communications and marketing contexts.
