Grounded in State of the National Workforce 2026: Strategic Analysis and Sectoral Demand, an Indigenous-informed workforce analysis presented at the 2026 ISET National Gathering and supported by CERIC, this webinar addresses the critical disconnect between current talent pipelines and the evolving needs of key economic drivers: Agriculture, Mining, Manufacturing, and Tourism.
With labour shortages persisting in high-growth areas, practitioners need a macro-level understanding of where the economy is heading. This session features a panel of Sector Council Presidents and Directors who will unpack the report’s findings, highlighting the specific skills and regional demands that will define the next year.

- Recordings for each session are located in their respective lessons. Open the “Session” chapter and select the lesson titled “Recording (session title)” to access it.
- Recordings are available in your learner profile for one month after the last session of the series. Be sure to watch them within this period.
- Complete all lessons and mark them as finished by clicking the “Complete & Continue” button.
- Your Certificate of Completion will appear in your learner profile, and you will also receive a completion email confirming that you have completed the learning.

JP’s expertise in leading and managing innovative projects has resulted in the creation of advanced human resources technologies, skills and change management strategies, certification programs for leaders, managers/supervisors and production workers, learning & business Impact assessments/tools and labour market intelligence (LMI) resources/initiatives.
JP holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, an Information Technology (eCommerce) diploma and a Master in Science (MSc), specializing in Human Resources & Industrial Relations.
Gustavo Jurado collaborates in the planning and development of MiHR’s labour market research and forecasting for the Canadian mining industry. He brings experience in e-commerce and data science, having worked in both public and private sectors. His previous projects have focused on understanding the potential impact of automation on the labour market.
Phyllis MacCallum is the Director of Research & Knowledge Mobilization at the Canadian Agriculture Human Resource Council. She brings practical expertise to labour market information research. Raised on a commercial cow/ calf operation in eastern Ontario, Phyllis has a passion for agriculture and business. She pursued a Diploma in Equine from Kemptville College and then finished her degree at the University of Lethbridge in Agriculture Studies – Economics. Phyllis and her partner, along with their twin girls now raise purebred Herefords west of Ottawa.
Darian Kovacs is the Indigenous founder of Jelly Academy, a leading digital skills training provider. With over 15 years of experience in education and skill training, Darian is a passionate advocate for reducing barriers to entry in the modern workforce. Darian brings a unique perspective on how digital literacy and Indigenous-led training models can intersect to drive national economic success.
