“Proudly Serving BC’s Career Development Community”
The Career Management Association of BC is a membership driven professional association representing BC’s Career Development Practitioners. CMA was initially launched in 1996 as the Labour Market and Career Information Association, a grassroots consortium that was concerned by the need for access to quality career and labour market information.
Following the mandate set for the association, CMA exists to identify and move forward the interests and needs of organizations, associations and practitioners impacted by career development, career management and career information within the province of British Columbia.
CMA has been, and continues to be; extensively involved in supporting BC’s Career Development Community as it expands its capacity, builds stronger channels internally within the sector and externally in communities across BC.
The CMA is involved in other types of activities such as the following: collaborative partnerships in the development of innovative solutions, strategies and tools
- collection, sharing and exchange of career management information
- enhancing professional development of the career management community
- assisting organizations and associations with the integration of career management and development standards, guidelines, best practices and resources into their operations
- promoting the objectives, contributions and value of career management and career development to society-at-large
- mindful inclusion of the differing community needs throughout the province of British Columbia
- hosting BC’s largest Annual Career Development Conference, CDC (http://www.the-cma.org/).
With over 250 members, and growing, the CMA is delighted to have the opportunity to work on behalf of its membership.
