New National Challenge seeks ideas to promote career development in Canada

August 15, 2013Entries are now being accepted for CERIC’s National Challenge to Promote Career Development. Submit your idea to enhance and promote the image of career development and its professionals in Canada and you could win $5,000 and a free registration to Cannexus14. You’ll also be able to review and comment on ideas – then vote for your favourites!
Why the National Challenge?
Surveys show what we already know: Career development, its professionals and their rich contribution to the nation are greatly undervalued – and we want to change this! In recognition of CERIC’s 10th anniversary in 2014, The Counselling Foundation of Canada has provided a grant to create the National Challenge. The competition aims to “crowdsource” ideas that will demonstrate to Canadians that career development matters.
How it works
- Entry Period: August 12, 2013 to October 11, 2013
→ Post your best ideas at www.ceric.ca/nationalchallenge
→ We invite everyone to examine the entries and post comments.
→ Entrants are welcome to use recommendations posted to revise their entries.
- Judges Assessment Period: October 12, 2013 to October 25, 2013
→ A panel of judges from the career development community shortlists up to 10 Finalists based on their innovation, practicality and potential impact.
- Online Voting Period: November 4, 2013 to November 29, 2013
→ The career development community votes on its favourite ideas.
- Winners Announced: January 6, 2014
→ Cash prizes of $5,000 will be awarded in addition to Cannexus14 registrations for the three entries that receive the most votes. Winners will also be recognized at the Cannexus14 National Career Development Conference.
