Compensation: $20.00/hour for 30 hours/week
Location: Hybrid or Remote
For remote work, the hire can be situated anywhere in Canada. It requires that the individual have a reliable computer, good internet access and a dedicated (quiet) workspace. For hybrid work, workplace accommodations can be made. CERIC’s office is located in Toronto, the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, Petun, Haundenosaunee, Anishinaabe and Mississauga Anishinaabe of New Credit.

Position Overview:
The Website & Google Ads Intern is a dynamic marketing position that plays a crucial role in supporting CERIC’s day-to-day marketing activities. As the Website & Google Ads Intern, you will be instrumental in ensuring CERIC’s platforms and tools are up to date and ready to optimize marketing efforts. Working under the guidance of the Director, Technology and Design, Marketing and Communications, your responsibilities will include supporting with CERIC’s website refresh (http://ceric.ca/), social media strategy execution, and supporting other day-to-day marketing operations.

Core Responsibilities
- Support the organization, design updates, and optimization of CERIC’s WordPress website (www.ceric.ca), including content updates and layout improvements, under supervision. of the Director, Technology and Design, Marketing and Communications and the Specialist, Stakeholder Outreach, Marketing and Communications
- Review, clean, and update contact databases in Mailchimp and Salesforce, ensuring accuracy, removing duplicates, and helping with audience segmentation.
- Assist with the setup, monitoring and optimization of Google Ads campaigns to support CERIC’s outreach goals.
- Contribute to keyword research, SEO alignment and tracking efforts using tools like Google Analytics and UTM links.
- Performing other related duties as assigned
What We Look For
- Recent graduate or student enrolled in University or College
- Prior experience updating websites using WordPress or a similar content management system (CMS); familiarity with page builders like WPBakery and Elementor is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of Google Ads and SEO
- Familiarity with keyword tools and Google Analytics
- Attention to detail, ability to spot errors, and organizational skills for database management.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Good internet research skills
- Reliable self-starter who can collaborate effectively as part of a team
- Basic understanding of UX/UI principles to guide layout and design updates.
- Comfort working with CRM systems (especially Mailchimp and Salesforce) for data management and email marketing.
- Familiarity with social media management and simple digital content design (Canva, Photoshop).
- French language skills are considered an asset, but not required
Additionally, this position is being funded in part by the Canada Summer Jobs program. As such, the hire MUST be:
- between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
- Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act;
- and have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
