Now What?: 90 Days to a New Life Direction is Laura Berman Fortgangs’ third book. She is an international life/career coach and highly acclaimed in the life coaching profession. This book is chock full of activities and tasks that force you to take a good look at where you’ve been, where you are currently, and where you are going. She makes it clear that there is a connection between past experiences and current behavior and provides a way through it to best determine who we are individually and where our strengths are.
Fortgang uses many stories of past and recent clients who have overcome various barriers to living a fulfilling life. Many of the exercises allow the reader to identify the behaviour that is preventing them from moving forward. She provides truth about the behaviour followed up with developing clear action plans to eliminate them.
As I have been told a time or two, sometimes it’s not the answers, but the questions that really matter. Covering the age old question “What am I meant to do with my life”, Fortgang guides the reader through a 90 day program addressing the all important questions that help show us that our values are linked to our professional and personal development. Money, careers, support, life purpose and self-discovery are just some of the topics that are discussed to creating a healthy and meaningful lifestyle. No stone is left unturned.
Some of the questions to ponder that are found at the end of each chapter are:
- What are my values?
- What are my criteria for happiness?
- What is concerning me about moving forward?
- What can I be doing now to start being who I want to be?
I highly recommend this book as a tool for those who are committed to overall growth. Read it from beginning to end and complete the exercises and questions in each chapter and I guarantee you will be on the road to controlling your destiny!
