CERIC Strategic Plan 2026–2030

The world of work is evolving – and so are we.

CERIC’s 2026–2030 Strategic Plan reflects both who we are and where we need to go. Developed through a broad consultative process that engaged people across the career development community, it charts a focused course for the next five years.

What we heard was clear: the forces reshaping work in Canada – from AI to economic uncertainty and mental health – are also reshaping the role of career development and the professionals who practice it. CERIC is uniquely positioned to respond.

Our new plan builds on the depth and breadth of work that makes CERIC a trusted resource in the field – our research, our learning programs, and our role as a convenor. But it also reflects a deliberate shift toward greater focus in three priority areas:

  • Equip People Across Canada for the Future – strengthening career development professionals’ capacity to navigate labour market disruption, while building career literacy among people in Canada
  • Enhance the Value of Career Development – making the case to governments, employers and educators that career development is essential workforce infrastructure
  • Solidify Canada’s Role as a CD Thought Leader – driving knowledge-sharing, collaboration and innovation across the national and global career development ecosystem

Underpinning all three priorities are three strategic accelerators: nurturing our relationships and partnerships, aligning our core functions, and strengthening our organizational capacity.

Together, these commitments will guide CERIC’s decisions, investments and actions through 2030.
