Lorraine has been actively involved and employed in the Employment Service sector for the last 26 years. During this time, she has worked steadily to strengthen the skill development and learning opportunities for staff, community partners and affiliations in the Northern Ontario.
In 2003 under Lorraine’s leadership, YES was recognized by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities with an award for Service Delivery Innovation recognizing the development of YES’ internal system of staff training and development.
In 2005 she received support from The Counselling Foundation of Canada to share research done on Employment Counselling Ethics. This information was shared in Northern Ontario with delivery network partners and as well at conferences throughout Ontario allowing dissemination of this valuable information across Canada.
In 2006 Lorraine was recognized locally by the Ontario Public School Boards for commitment and dedication to the school community assisting with plan development for early school leavers.
In 2011 under Lorraine’s leadership YES was recognized by the City of Thunder Bay and the winner of the Youth Friendly Business Award.
Currently a member of the Professional Development & Learning Committee of CERIC and a member of the CERIC Board, Lorraine enjoys the opportunity CERIC provides to establish networks and work together to strengthen services for Canadians.
