Reminder to support First Nations, Métis and Inuit learners
January 19, 2012Review these inspiring approaches to Aboriginal learning
January 31, 2012Cannexus12 was a resounding success, with a record-breaking attendance and 2.5 days of outstanding learning, networking and community-building. Thank you to all of the delegates, presenters, sponsors, exhibitors and supporting organizations for your support and participation!
More than 750 delegates from education, community-based agencies and the private sector came together January 23-25 in Ottawa, making it our biggest turnout yet and cementing Cannexus as Canada’s largest bilingual National Career Development Conference.
Delegates enjoyed three world-class keynote speakers including Trey Anthony, Mark Savickas and Michael Adams. They also chose from among 100 concurrent education sessions, covering all aspects of career counselling from Aboriginal Career Development, to Literacy and Essential Skills, to Career Centre Evaluation. And they visited 30 exhibitors, showcasing the latest products and services in the field.
A total of 86% of delegates to date have rated Cannexus12 as very good or excellent and 97% said they planned to incorporate what they learned into the work that they do. Here is just some of what attendees had to say about how they benefited from attending:
“High-quality presentations given by people who are up to date with their research and experience.”
“Opening my mind to new ideas and developing an awareness for special socio-economic themes that will affect career development in the future.”
“Learning about the gaps between job-seekers skills and employer needs.”
“Hearing what other employment counsellors do and the challenges they face.”
“The networking with people from different parts of the country and the world.”
Mark your calendars now and plan to join us for Cannexus13, January 28-30, 2013 in Ottawa.
