July 25, 2014Illustrating a busy and productive year, the 2013 Annual Report reflects on CERIC’s continued commitment to providing enhanced and accessible support to career development professionals so they could help better Canadians in their path to productive work and meaningful careers.
In their annual report message, CERIC Vice-President & General Manager Riz Ibrahim and CERIC Board Chair Mark Venning, President of Change Rangers, outline the three strategic priorities that direct CERIC’s efforts: Research & Learning, Community Hub & Collaboration and Advocacy & Profile.
The report also highlights CERIC’s many significant achievements over the past year, including:
- Presented the Cannexus13 National Career Development Conference, attracting 742 delegates to explore innovate approaches in the field;
- The debut of the Summer Skills Academy, a program of two-day seminars to meet the needs of career practitioners;
- Launching the “Career Development Matters” campaign by selling green t-shirts with the campaign slogan on them;
- Preparing to publish Canada’s first career development textbook, Career Development Practice in Canada: Perspectives, Principles and Professionalism;
- Hosting Canada’s Career Imperative, a series of cross-Canada road shows to discuss fixing our country’s talent disconnect; and
- The National Challenge to Promote Career Development, an online competition to enhance and promote the image of career development and its professionals in Canada
CERIC’s project partnership funding, strategic programs and new initiatives are further elaborated on in the report and an overview of financial performance in 2013 is included.
