February 12, 2025CERIC is launching a new approach to funding career development-related research and learning projects, beginning today with its first open call. Committed to supporting the creation of innovative resources in career counselling and development, CERIC invites both individuals and organizations—including those from education, community-based, and private sectors—to submit project proposals.
Projects can address any career development topic where a knowledge gap exists, with priority given to the following areas:
- Career practitioning with social and economic impact
- Impact of career services on policy and programs
- Emerging career development theories and service models
- Shifting career mindsets and the evolving role of career development professionals
What’s new? CERIC now offers two open call windows each year—one in winter/spring and one in summer/fall—along with a more streamlined application process. This change improves access by providing defined application periods, ensuring all proposals are considered equitably. It also enhances the applicant experience by establishing set timelines for proposal review.
Interested individuals and organizations can learn more about the project funding process. The deadline to submit a completed application is March 19, 2025. Results will be announced in early June, with projects set to begin in June 2025.
