Jane Aupaluktuq was born in Baker Lake, Nunavut and is bilingual in Inuktitut and English. Ms. Aupaluktuq worked as Interpreter Translator for the Language Bureau of the Government of the Northwest Territories from 1979 to 1986. She was a freelance Interpreter Translator from 1986 to 1988 and then was Board Development Coordinator at the Kivalliq Divisional Board of Education (Baker Lake) until 1990. Since that time, Ms. Aupaluktuq has worked in human resources in Iqaluit, Inuvik and Rankin Inlet (Government of Nunavut). She was Director of Human Resources (GN) from 1999 to 2005 and has been Director of Human Resources at Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) since that time. She is currently a member of NLCA Article 23 (Inuit Employment) Bilateral Working Group (GN/NTI); Nunavut Literacy Strategy Consultation group; Nunavut Literacy Council Project Advisory Committee; Chair of the GN Staffing Appeal Committee, Kivalliq Region.
