CERIC has issued its Call for Presenters for Cannexus27, Canada’s largest bilingual Career Development Conference. The theme Navigating Uncertainty, Creating Possibility captures the challenges and opportunities shaping career development across Canada today. Economic volatility, AI disruption and skills mismatches are transforming how people navigate learning, work and career transitions. In a time when many people are questioning what comes next, career development professionals, educators and workforce leaders offer a source of direction, encouragement and action.
Cannexus27 takes place from January 25–27, 2027, with both the virtual and in-person conferences running over 2.5 days. Present in person at the Rogers Centre in Ottawa for an immersive experience, or present virtually for a flexible option, with all virtual and hybrid sessions recorded and available to attendees for three months.
Presenting at Cannexus is a valuable opportunity to contribute knowledge, spark discussion and showcase effective practices in career and workforce development. The last conference welcomed more than 1,600 participants from Canada and around the globe. For presenters, it is an opportunity to share their expertise, influence conversations in the field and build meaningful new connections, while also gaining valuable exposure on a national stage.
Cannexus presenters are practitioners and researchers in career and workforce development and related fields who are forward-thinkers with fresh and impactful ideas and projects to convey. They may be part of universities, schools, community agencies, governments, private practices and corporations. We strongly encourage proposals from individuals from equity-deserving groups, including Indigenous, racialized, 2SLGBTQIA+ and people with disabilities.
Presenters can draw on 29 identified areas of interest when preparing their submissions. Themes range from effective career counselling and coaching to trauma-informed practice, as well as AI and emerging technologies, and the future of work and workplaces. Sessions on talent management and leadership development for directors of career and employment centres are also encouraged. International presenters are welcome to share global perspectives on career development research and practice.
The submission deadline is Monday, June 1, 2026. Please review the terms and guidelines of presenting prior to submitting a proposal. Learn more about Cannexus in this recap of Cannexus26 along with reviews from past delegates.
Cannexus is presented by CERIC and supported by The Counselling Foundation of Canada and a broad network of supporting organizations and partners.
