Registration is open for three CERIC webinar series running through October, covering leadership in career and employment centres, culturally responsive Indigenous recruitment and retention, and supporting autistic clients in career counselling. Two are offered in English and one in French.

Career and employment centres are being asked to do more, for more complex client populations, with less predictable funding and closer scrutiny of outcomes. That pressure lands hardest on managers and team leads, many promoted from strong front-line practice without formal preparation for leading people. This three-part series offers frameworks built for the sector rather than generic leadership training. Participants leave with three reusable tools – a Change Impact and Pressure Map, an Inclusive Team Capacity and Risk Scan, and a Strategic Case one-pager – plus a written 90-day plan. Advancing economic reconciliation means moving from transactional job matching to relational, strengths-based pathways that carry Indigenous talent from first application through to senior leadership. Grounded in the 2026 Weaving the Future joint forum between Indigenous Skills and Employment Training (ISET) programs and National Sector Councils, this free two-part series examines what breaks at both ends of the employment lifecycle: standardized recruitment that screens out non-linear career paths, and thin onboarding, cultural isolation and promotion that depends on self-advocacy. Panellists Misty Waldorf, Shaily Allison and Kelly Johnson bring perspectives from front-line practice, employers, post-secondary Work-Integrated Learning programs, ISET offices and community-based organizations.

More autistic clients are seeking career guidance, and counsellor training programs have not kept pace with what that work requires. Offered in partnership with the Ordre des conseillers et conseillères d’orientation du Québec (OCCOQ), this three-part French-language series covers how autism presents, the neurocognitive characteristics that matter for career assessment, and how practitioners can adapt their own communication style in one-on-one work. Émilie Robert is a career counsellor at Collège Montmorency and a two-time recipient of the OCCOQ professional award. The OCCOQ recognizes the series as three hours of continuing education, and reduced rates are available to its members. Participants also join a community of practice that continues for a month after the final session.

If the dates don’t work, you can still register – recordings are provided after each session. Paid webinar recordings remain available for one month following the final session. Certificates of Completion are now issued after each session whether you attend live or watch the recording. Organizations registering five or more participants at the same time receive 20% off.
