Latest issue of CJCD examines AI’s growing presence in career guidance

The new issue of the Canadian Journal of Career Development, Canada’s only peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to career development, has published Volume 25, Number 2. The issue carries 12 articles from researchers in Canada and internationally, including three published in French. 

Artificial intelligence runs through several contributions. Melanie Trottier considers what AI is already changing for guidance practitioners in Quebec workplaces. F. Henry Abanda turns to Generation Z and construction industry transitions, while Jeanine Williamson and Steven D. Milewski examine AI-inferred personality profiles of occupations and what they mean for both career counselling and AI literacy. 

Discrimination is a second thread. Valentina Rengifo and Sabruna Dorceus report on the educational and career aspirations of young people in Quebec and how these connect to perceptions of discrimination based on immigration status. Yannic Gagnon and Sabruna Dorceus look at perceptions of discrimination among workers in the province. 

In the Career Practitioners & Community Practices section, Shana Harrison and Deepak Mathew bring evidence and practice together on career development for autistic individuals with lower to moderate support needs.
