10 Ways Employers Can Address Their Talent Needs by Partnering with Career Development Professionals
This employer toolkit was created by the career development professionals (CDPs) who work with employers every day within their communities. It is a compilation from more than 100 CDPs with advice for helping to mobilize local labour markets. This resource is the result of virtual community roundtables with career development professionals, held in partnership with provincial career development associations.
Conducted by Environics for CERIC, this national survey was designed to update and expand understanding of the state of career development in the Canadian workplace, including the impact of the pandemic. Topics pertain to recruitment and retention in the wake of “The Great Reshuffle.”
The survey reveals keen insights into Canadian organizations’ current views on skills and talent gaps in the labour market; hiring underrepresented groups as part of equity, diversity and inclusion strategies; the importance of investing in career development; and how employers perceive the services of career development professionals.
For the Career Development in the Canadian Workplace: National Business Survey, CERIC surveyed 500 Canadian executives in more than 11 industries including service, retail, hospitality, construction and manufacturing. This is the second iteration of the survey, providing comparability to our 2013 survey.
